ARHT’s holograms once again used to illustrate the benefits of 5G technology, with multiple use cases showcased including live university professor lectures
TORONTO, CANADA – April 23, 2019 – ARHT Media Inc. (“ARHT” or the “Company”) (TSXV:ART), the global leader in the development, production and distribution of high-quality hologram content through its patented Holographic Telepresence technology, is pleased to announce that, in partnership with Ericsson, they have successfully assisted the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) demonstrate the potential of communication over 5G using ARHT’s Holographic Telepresence technology at the 5G Malaysia Showcase.
On April 18th, 2019, ARHT beamed a hologram of Malaysian viral star ‘Aishah London’ to greet the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad who was in attendance to help launch the showcase. The four-day conference that took place in Putrajaya, Malaysia acted as a platform to explore the potential of 5G for the country, highlighting use cases from both local service providers and international partners. Some of the applications showcased included use cases for Healthcare, Education, Media & Entertainment and Smart Cities, among others.
“The demand to use our technology to showcase the benefits of 5G – greater resolution and less latency – is growing at an incredible pace,” stated ARHT CEO Larry O’Reilly “Ericsson was such a terrific partner for this event featuring Malaysian PM Dr Mahathir Bin Mohamad, numerous university professors, as well as many government and industry leaders.”
Following the launch event with the Malaysian Prime Minister, ARHT set up their Holographic Displays inside exhibition booths at the showcase in partnership with Malaysian telecommunications provider Celcom and the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The Company conducted numerous live beam-ins to further demonstrate its technology to attendees, with university professors beaming in live every 30 minutes to conduct mini lectures at the UTM pavilion. ARHT also recorded holograms of the Malaysian Minister of Communications and the Minister of Agriculture, as well as the Chairman of the MCMC, the CEO of Celcom and the CEO of Ericsson Malaysia.
With the advent of 5G in an increasing number of regions globally, faster data speeds that offer a higher capacity are soon to become the new standard. With the rollout of this innovation, ARHT is well positioned to further penetrate their technology into even more regions delivering a completely new way to interact with people over distances. Using high-quality lifelike holograms that offer a sense of being present alongside you, and can see and speak to you in real-time.
In January ARHT technology was used to stream 4K live holograms for a 5G private event in North America and then in February, ARHT helped China Unicom and Huawei showcase their 5G network at the “5G + Smart Education” Industry Application Conference in Wuhan, China. ARHT is also in talks with network providers all over the world to deploy the Company’s technology to help showcase the rollout of 5G in their territories.
